River Rock

This is a big rock we lugged home from the Belize river after I noticed that it was unusual looking compared to the rest. It is extremely hard to chip at, but my guess is its agate.

Tumbled Rock

A while ago I talked about a tumbler I had purchased. I have done a few batches of rock, but since this is a vibratory tumbler, I don't get them rounded as well as I would like to.

Geode or fossil?

We were at a friend's house today, and their young boy showed off what he called  his 'dinosaur eggs'. The broken one resembles the bigger one from the outside, but they broke it open to see the inside. The white stone rattles inside when shaken.

I have not heard if Belize has had dinosaurs, but I know there have been mastodons living here. Since I cannot really identify these rocks, I was hoping someone would venture forth and say if they have seen something similar, or if there could be a chance that these could be fossils of some sort. Perhaps its just a geode, but it seems very hard on the outside.

Don't be shy to leave your thoughts about this one!

Wine colored moss agate

Was it ever exciting to discover this treasure not far from our house. Here it is still in the ground. The exposed side was showing. It is the biggest moss agate I have found to date, and a real treasure.

Purple agate

It was a huge delight to find these very purple rock pieces on the road. They were all broken in small pieces but the color is rare and unbelievably gorgeous.

More moss agates

I think if I would pick which was my best rock, it would have to be these mosses with different colors. the special ones are the pink and lavender color with moss in them.
