Wine colored moss agate
Was it ever exciting to discover this treasure not far from our house. Here it is still in the ground. The exposed side was showing. It is the biggest moss agate I have found to date, and a real treasure.

More moss agates
I think if I would pick which was my best rock, it would have to be these mosses with different colors. the special ones are the pink and lavender color with moss in them.

Colorful Moss Agates
By now we have quite a selection of these moss agates if that is what they are called. this color brown is most common, but below is a gorgeous red one.
I am waiting to throw this one in the tumbler. that might be a possibility in hte near future, as I have been purchasing one last week. I cant wait to show you what my tumbled rocks will look like! Keep visiting.
This was part of a massive 15 lb rock that I found at our favorite spot. I had quite a time carrying it barefoot through sinking sand but I was determined to bring it home with me. It is quite the find, except that it seems to have lots of weak crumbly white limestone in it. But I believe I could successfully tumble lots of small chunks.

Beautiful Broken Agates & Jaspers
There is nothing quite like walking along a recently graded and compacted road if you want to find broken rocks. These recently found pieces will be added to my to-be-polished rock pile, for when I own a rock tumbler.
I did not know this country had so much in the way of pink rocks, but we found no shortage of them lately.
Some rocks I wet to show color better.
