Red Jasper/Agate

The rock picture is a jasper/agate that we found in the Macal River, 2.18 miles from the Western Highway at Santa Elena on the road that goes up the east side of the river towards Cristo Rey. You can see the river from the road, there is a gravel/rock bar that is worth investigating.

This rock pictured was discovered by our Canadian friends. They told me they had made many jewelry pieces from this one rock. Thank you for sharing!

Limestone covered leaf

Years ago my dad used to own some wild country that had a creek on it. In the water we found twigs and leaves encrusted with limestone. It was amazing! Here is a picture of one of those leaves covered entirely in limestone.
